We are an integrated provider of specialized aviation services, including, advanced engineering and maintenance capabilities, part sales and logistics management, aircraft leasing, and contract flying operations both internationally and domestically supporting humanitarian missions, cargo and workforce movements to remote communities. Our headquarters are in North Bay, Ontario, and we are a wholly owned subsidiary of Chorus Aviation Inc.

The Recruiter is responsible for the full cycle recruiting experience, from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring. In addition, this position will work with the Human Resources (HR) team to support the onboarding and HR administration for new hires.


What does a Recruiter do?

  • Full cycle recruiting in a fast-paced environment; taking candidates from initial sourcing/outreach through to offer extension for multiple roles across various departments
  • Provide a seamless recruiting process with a prioritization on ensuring each candidate has a positive experience; provide feedback at each stage of the hiring journey 
  • Work closely with departments across the organization to identify current and upcoming vacancies, develop recruitment strategies, and provide support with creating job descriptions, the interview process, etc.
  • Bring a passion for connecting with people and building relationships with both candidates and hiring managers
  • Actively engage in community sourcing to build relationships with organizations outside of Voyageur to aid in Employment Equity initiatives with the goal of increasing the diversity of the workforce.
  • Build relationships with high school(s) and post-secondary institution(s) to promote employment in the aviation industry and Voyageur.
  • Attend relevant job fairs to promote the Voyageur brand and opened/upcoming employment opportunities.

What you bring to the table

As a professional with demonstrated recruitment experience, you possess solid working knowledge in attracting talent in a variety of positions.  

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a full cycle recruiter. 
  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Business or Human Resources. 
  • Experience working in aviation or federal employer preferred. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply employment legislations (e.g., Employment Standards, Human Rights, Health & Safety, Privacy, Compensation, Labour Relations, etc.), Human Resources Policies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build, foster and maintain productive relationships with candidates, clients, and team members. 
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a busy and complex environment. 
  • Strong time management, planning and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. 
  • Superior professional judgment, diplomacy and relationship building skills. 
  • Advanced computer skills. 
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, solid ethical standards and trustworthiness. 
  • Ability to listen, collaborate and improve. 
  • Ability to think strategically and strive for continuous improvement. 

What we offer

  • A starting salary of $53,000 annum, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
