The Position

As a key member of the Human Resource team the Human Resources Generalist will provide support which promotes and develops an employee-oriented and high-performance workforce. In addition to supporting recruitment, this position will also support human resources functions including employee relations, employee engagement, benefits, training and human resource projects.

Key Responsibilities


  • Work with management responsible for hiring to provide support for postings, advertisement, screening and interview scheduling
  • Lead talent acquisition plan leveraging social media, networking events, job boards and other sourcing ideas to identify and hire talent
  • Establish and maintain metrics to show performance and effectiveness of recruitment programs
  • Participate in candidate interviews, conduct reference check, create and present offer letters as well as advise interviewed unsuccessful candidates
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of employee records, interview notes, etc.
  • Coordinate and co-facilitate new employee orientation and training
  • Work with department managers to forecast hiring needs and create applicant pool

Employee Engagement

  • Support management efficiently to ensure application of human resources practices, legislation, programs, policies and regulations for operations
  • Act as a resource to Managers on issues relating to policy interpretation and employee relations
  • Support and develop recognition initiatives focused on employee engagement
  • Work with Manager, Human Resources to support training needs
  • Develop and manage exit interview process
  • Assist with HR initiatives including benefit administration, HRIS projects and communications


  • Respond to enquiries; escalate enquiries when appropriate; prepare and distribute correspondence using templates
  • Prepare information for external stakeholders
  • Maintain current and accurate files and data in various online platforms and hard copies
  • Create and distribute organizational and employee reports
  • Photocopying, filing and distributing human resources materials

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources
  • CHRP/CHRL Designation is an asset
  • Proven computer skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Canadian and provincial legislation and regulations
  • Ability to process all responsibilities with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • All candidates must possess a valid passport and be able to travel abroad unrestricted. In addition, candidates must also be eligible to work for a Canadian company
  • Clear criminal background check
  • Updated immunizations and immunization records
