Manager, Human Resources

Voyageur Aviation Corp. (Voyageur) is looking for a human resource professional, preferably with the CHRP/CHRL or CPHR designation, to join its human resources team reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Services. The candidate will lead the human resources team and will have a primary responsibility to provide expertise, advice and guidance to management and employees based on thorough understanding of policies, legislation and support of company business strategy.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate should have at least 5-7 year’s post designation experience and excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. The primary focus of this role will involve:
  • Advocating on behalf of employees;
  • Providing advice and guidance to management on a variety of employee issues; and
  • Ensuring that the human resources systems, programs and policies are in place to support the desired corporate culture.

  • CHRP/CHRL or CPHR with at least 5 years of management experience.
  • Superior problem solving skills and conflict resolution is required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and coach employees with policy interpretation and make recommendations is required.
  • Excellent MS Office – Word, Excel proficiency is required.
  • Knowledge or experience with Canada Labour Code, Human Rights legislation, and other provincial regulations as applicable is an asset.
  • Experience in a human resources generalist or management role with direct exposure to all functions – recruitment, employee relations, benefits, policy development, and compensation is required.
  • Candidate will be expected to self-manage and work independently in establishing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for benefits and pension is required.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
