Job Description: Voyageur Airways has an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team. We have an immediate opening for a System Administrator to work with the team supporting the infrastructure and software applications as required.


  • Daily monitoring of supported systems for security, integrity, stability and performance;

  • Daily backup operations and regular testing of recovery procedures;

  • Design and participate in the design of new solutions for various projects and operational requirements;

  • Deployment of new systems (Virtual / Physical);

  • Manage, configure and maintain Windows 2008/2012 Server platforms;

  • Plan and implement infrastructure / software upgrades;

  • Manage, configure and maintain all related networking equipment (switches, firewalls, VPN, and VoIP systems across multiple sites;

  • Maintain and configure Active Directory / DNS / DHCP / systems;

  • Perform Disaster Recovery scenarios to ensure easy and quick recovery of critical data;

  • Tier 2 Help Desk incident resolution;

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience configuring, managing and maintaining virtualized environments;

  • MSSQL 2008, PostgresSQL and other related databases;

  • Experience with Mail Servers technologies (SMTP, IMAP, POP)

  • Storage solutions and protocols (iSCSI)

  • Active Directory / GPO / DNS / DHCP;

  • Network Security protocols / VPN / VLAN / VoIP;

  • Windows Server 2008/2012 / Linux;

  • Network architecture and administration knowledge including setting up and configuring wired, and wireless infrastructure;

  • Network appliances and troubleshooting such as Wireshark and other network monitoring tools.


  • Computer related degree or diploma from a technical Institute

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar technical role required

  • Solid knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012 platform;

  • Experience with SQL 2008 database backup and restore procedures;

  • Solid understanding of standard internet protocols such as HTTP, SMTP or DNS;

  • Advanced troubleshooting & problem solving skills;

  • Strong written and oral communications skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of users/management;

  • Strong organization skills, interpersonal skills and excellent attention to details;

  • Ability to effectively prioritize, make decisions, solve problems and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;

  • Ability to work independently and within a team on multiple simultaneous tasks within a challenging fast paced environment;  

  • Ability to take responsibility and be accountable for all assigned work tasks.
